White Tigers FC Joins the SWPL

ESCONDIDO, CA (Februry 6, 2024) – The Southwest Premier League (SWPL) announces White Tigers FC as its newest member.

Formed in 2019 and owned by Sung Hyun Emmanuel Yoo Lopez, White Tigers FC joins San Diego Premier League as a founding member for the 2024 season.

“We are very proud that White Tigers FC is with us at the start of this great adventure," San Diego Premier League President Diego Martins said. "The club has proven to be competitive and a name-to-know in San Diego football. We welcome Mr. Yoo and White Tigers FC to the San Diego Premier League."

The club has participated in the qualifying rounds of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and the CalSouth State Cup. The team won the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) SoCal South Division title in 2019.

"With the growth of White Tigers FC we have been able to send one player to Europe and one to Mexico to play professionally," Yoo said. "We would love to offer that opportunity to the rest of the players on our team and NISA Nation is the platform that offers the opportunity for competitive play and one we can utilize to get the team closer to playing in a professional league."

San Diego Premier League is slated to begin in late March. The match schedule will be released soon.
